Western Refractories

Western Refractories was formed in 1997 to provide low cost fire assay crucibles to the local market. Our range of crucibles include 30 gram, 40 gram, 50 gram, 55 gram and 65 gram sample capacities. In 1998 we developed a production capability to produce very high quality assay fluxes for the gold industry. In 2007 we extended our flux manufacturing capacity to Africa. These assay fluxes are quality tested twice during and after production. Our automated assay flux plant can produce your recipe quickly and economically, why not ask us for a quote, We can promise reliability of supply as well as the highest quality fluxes.

Again responding to market needs we have now produced an automated machine to dispense assay fluxes in order to significantly reduce operator exposure whilst handling these materials. Other benefits of automated assay fluxing are time saving, flux 50 pots in less than a minute! It's more accurate than manual dosing, giving better results and less boil-overs. After three years of research and development, in 2002 the company released a range of mineral reference standards for the gold industry. These reference standards are produced to ISO Guide 35 and are independently certified by Australia's leading statisticians, Data Analysis Australia. The range of gold standards encompasses up to 12 values from <1PPB to >7PPB Au. Please visit the Assay Reference Standards section to see the current certificates.
